Cluster of blue music notes The Chancel Choir: This group provides the main worship leadership at the 8:30 service each Sunday morning. The repertoire has something to offer every taste in worship music. This choir is also the centerpiece of the two larger musical offerings of the year, Christmas at the Grove, and the Easter Cantata. Rehearsals for the Chancel Choir are Wednesdays from 7:30-8:45 p.m. The choir meets at 8:10 each Sunday morning to robe and warm-up, before heading to the Sanctuary for the greeting and procession.

The Harvest Rhythm Section: This is the ensemble that leads worship at the 11:00 Harvest Contemporary worship service. The band consists of guitars, bass, drums, percussion, keyboards, and vocalists. Other instruments, especially winds, are added as available. All levels of experience are welcome. The HRS rehearses each Tuesday night, 7:00-8:45 p.m., and at 10:00 a.m. each Sunday morning.

Sunday Evening Praise: This band leads the music at the 6:00 p.m. Praise service each Sunday night. The music is acoustic, covering Praise and Worship as well as classic hymns. The Evening Praise band is open to players at any level of experience. They rehearse at 5:00 p.m. each Sunday evening.

The Myrtle Grove and Friends Orchestra: This ensemble is made up of both church members and hired instrumentalists from the community. They perform at the annual Christmas at the Grove program, and the Easter Cantata, as well as other special service opportunities. This group is always looking for members from within the church membership. If you play an orchestral instrument (Brass, Woodwind, String, or Percussion) and are interested, please inform the Director of Music Ministries so that he may help you become involved.

The MG Ringers: This is the main Handbell ensemble at Myrtle Grove UMC. They play regularly for the 8:30 worship service. Ringers of all levels are welcome, but the ability to read music will be very helpful. The MG Ringers rehearse each Wednesday night from 6:10-7:00.

Children's Choirs: There are children's choirs available for all children ages 2 through 5th grade. The youngest children have their music time during Sunday School hours each Sunday morning. Beginning Fall 2007 the older children's groups will meet each Sunday afternoon. Volunteers are always needed to aid the Choir Directors.

Music At The Grove: This is our special music series at MGUMC. Once a month we present a special guest musical offering at our 6:00 p.m. service. Admission to these programs is always free, and we collect a love offering for the performer. Past programs have included Organ Recitals, Celtic bands, Southern Gospel Quartets, Urban Gospel groups, and many other forms of music. The schedule of concerts is September-May, and always available in the church calendar.

To find out how to get involved and what other opportunities are available, please contact the church office.
